Hey ML,
Now that ur all hooked up w/ur I- phone an can work on the road, can u fix some of those videos on ur myspace page???? pls. what'do they do, expire or somethin? i feel like i'm jus gettin caught up w/ur muzik and i'd like to see sum of ur older stuff or current vids but a lot of em aren't workin'....wassup w/that? I see enuf of Obama already, he's cool an all but i'd rather see u perform if I can't be in Cali for ur shows.
BTW, are u still makin' a vid for Rise like u said? That's one of my faves & I think "Growing Pains" would be a cool video too. Hey, who stole my car??? What T F***!!

And, I'm still tryin to get through "The Burning," a different version of the 1921 Tulsa race riots of the book u recommended. It's challenging, sad & makes me angry at times. How the fuck did the white race ever think they were so superior over blacks to cause the pain, torture & despair against a whole city as they did back then? It saddens me to the core & THANK U GOD that i never grew up w/that kind of hatred or racism in my life towards others & will not carry it on nor tolerate it wherever i walk in my path thru life for years to come.

I dont know if many people have heard this..but in the UK internet service providers are trying to cut down on downloading copyright material by sending warning letters 2 people that d/l, and actually reduce bandwidth if people are persistently caught doing it. Eventually their account will be terminated.
I dont know whether this is a bunch of scare mongering and empty promises...but if it does cut down copyright infringements, maybe the USA might take the idea on. Definitely beneficial to artists like ML. I mean as i just learnt from your last comment ML, u dont even get sponsorship deals on when you play live. Do u have to do erythin yourself?? Where in the hell do u get money from man? I cant see it being CD deals (even platinum artists dont get a big chunk from CD sales). I thought it was all sponsorship deals etc.
I respect u alot alot because even in this bullshit industry u are still continuing to do your own thing. Im sure some days u think to yourself..why dont i just dumb down and then i will sell BIG? I dont have to talk about real stuff..when i speak the troof on songs like "rise" or "ms america" it gets lost in the BS, while lil wayne is sayin the stupidest stuff i ever heard, and people are saying he is the next shakespeare or somn. But forreal ML, the gratitude from fans of the music from YOUR heart will always outweigh the 'gratitude' from the throwaway fans who will buy your shit for a month if u dumb down and get promotion, then move on to the next artist that is cookin up a bunch of BS cuz 'it sells'. Dont know if that means anythin but i hope it does.
And a change of topic: Music? Muse it! I have such a busy life that even though im alwayz listening to music, im also doing something else at the same time. But recently i taken the time out to actually LISTEN to the songs as opposed to just 'hear' them. Opens up a whole nother world that i only experienced when i didnt have to balance work/life etc.
Anyway gotta jet..my busy life is a callin'.

I am not sure how it works with putting your videos on Utube but maybe they should set it up like Itunes and if you like or love a person's video you can pay $1.00 a video or something to download the video. If you think about all of the views if that were to translate into dollars then the artists like Martin Luther could profit. There are vides of ML on Utube that he may not know about but I would have no problems with paying for to see him because he is extraordinary.
Sorry to burst your bubble man but that wouldnt work! Youtube wouldn't make their website subscription-based (they earn a bunch of money through advertising..more than they would earn from subscription fees). Not to mention views =/= downloads. When ML puts up a video, the number of people that have viewed it up to this point is not the same number of people that would pay a dollar/pound to view it.
The way 2 make money in the muzik industry is sponsorship deals for your tours. CD sales dont come to much anyway (labels usually fuck the arists over with the % they give them) and especially in the internet age not many people buy CD's anyway. Alot of it is illegal downloading. The problem for ML is people dont want the truth. They dont want music that has longevity, artists that have studied the former greats, lyrics that make them think. They want disposable music that they like for a hot minute and then never listen 2 again. Illegal d/l has made that the case. Consumers d/l a track, double-click it, listen to it, then switch over before the first track is finished.
mz you did not burst my bubble but you gave me information that I did not know. It was just an idea as I know next to nothing about the industry of music. Thank you for informing me because I did not know that sponsorships is the only way for artists to make real money.
Itz not necessarily the ONLY way..but its probably the only way that earns meaningful money. I may be wrong..im sure ML knows the industry more than i do (no shit!) but i cant see a nice steady income coming from anywhere else.
The fact is that at the end of the day..the money in music isnt big for 99% of the artists. A vast majority get screwed over by their label, and most just dont go platinum the way lil weezy already has (dam!). Movies is where the money is at. I'd love to see ML move towards that industry (as long as it doesnt compromise his music career lol). Based on 'across the universe' he is a very good actor and has potential to have a solid movie career ahead of him!

not two phone. it's nifty but u got a two year marriage with that thing. mine crashed several times in the first week and also that battery doesn't last a minute... so if u're still in ur 30 days, return that shizzit. my 2 cents. wait for gen3 version.
