THE POLICE
I was treated with information about The Police's Sold Out Concert at the Oakland Colusium (sp?) having some more tickets open up. Jumped on the chance to see Sting and the Fellas Live! What.. are U KIDDING ME!! Oh my Gawd! And peep this.. the tix were the only seats out of 38,000 that were cushioned and DIRECT Frontal view of the stage and HD Screens which rocked by the way. I learned a few things about songs that connect with audiences and why. Immediately applied that knowledge to some tunes I'm working on. Dreaming Without Breaks is on the grill right now. I just put up the first demo version of that song and another one currently called Amazing but someone suggested I call it ''Still'' which I think is a nice title also. Dreaming has been on my brain for a while but a conversation with Shawn and Paisley brought up some James Brown inspired ideas and the rest is mystory. I like the pop'd out soul approach to a few of my tunes. I need a few harder grooves and they are currently forthcoming.

Gotta get my nephews off the Killa Cali hype and on some legit $$ business cuz they got mad potential..just need some directives. Sounds like they listening to me these days. It's rough making the right decision all the time. I thought it was boring
as a child. It's not that at all cuz action and danger and excitement and wild ish comes at you all the time...whether you are in Vegas doin it big or just at the local Walgreens getting some hair grease... so it's up to the individual to stand up for some things or fall for everything.

what cha say now??? the police!!! that's a hot show 2 attend. they're def on my list of live performances 2 peep out. cool treat dude. the universe def blessed u that nite. the situation w ur nephews is quite delicate. u r in a very difficult place but 4 a reason. it's VERY good that they're listening to u. actually, that's half the battle... gettin em 2 listen 2 what cha gotta say. maybe u can involve em in the industry by teaching em about street marketing, promotions, recording, design, etc. what r there interests? how can they turn their ideas in2 capital & become young entrepreneurs? how old r they? i have nephews myself & i wanna make sure they stay on track. it's though bc they r growing up under different circumstances then us. they have more pressures & stresses then we did. how do we keep em off the streets? how do we motivate em 2 grind 4 their dreams when we have been in the trenches 4 soooOOOOooo long w/out the results we want? maybe i'm just babblin on... it's late...til next time ONE

just a few word about the tracks you recently uploaded on myspace. the amazing/still song is close to perfection and one of my favourites these days.
dreaming without breaks im totally fighting with. its got such a beautiful melody, amazing lyrics and chordchanges, but i do think its kind of overproduced. theres so much going on with the different guitars etc. that your unique voice does not get the space to breathe.. sometimes less can be more.. watchu think?
oh, but who am i to tell you? i just thought you might wanna hear a voice from the crowd..
