''And oh yes, I said it: white preachers lie. In fact, they lie with a skill, fluidity, and precision unparalleled in the history of either preaching or lying, both of which histories stretch back a ways and have often overlapped. They lie every Sunday, as they talk about a Savior they have chosen to represent dishonestly as a white man, in every picture to be found of him in their tabernacles, every children's story book in their Sunday Schools, every Christmas card they'll send to relatives and friends this December. But to lie about Jesus, about the one they consider God--to bear false witness as to who this man was and what he looked like--is no cause for concern.''

Here is a question posed to me and I will pose it to you.

Answer if you dare.

If the Bible is perfect as it has been declared to be, without error...
then Jesus must have been a man of Color.

Question: If if is proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that Jesus was Black, how would that
change or affect your faith?

These are very serious times but these times have been on their way for quite some time so
feel free to speak your thoughts

Interesting. I waz raised as a catholic..so i waz surrounded by alot of pictures of jesus as a handsome man white with long blondey-brown hair and blue eyes. I did alot of research of religion for myself and completely moved away from being a catholic. Im now unitarian (biblical unitarian, not universal unitarian). Along this journey, ive realised alot of thingz i was 'taught' is plain bullshit. Jesus (yeshua) was not a handsome man, he had short hair, dark skin etc. After a few years i am now perfectly fine knowing jesus was a ordinary looking dark man. In fact i like it cuz it gives my religion a more authentic eastern vibe (where the religion originated from), rather than a fake western one. Make sense?

But was he black? I dont know..but if it was hypothetically proven that he was, then it makes no difference TO ME. Ive already had my views on yeshua's appearance changed once to what i feel is more accurate. If it was proven he was black, i would be happy to know i found the truth. Cuz after all isnt that important in life? TRUTH.

However alot of people would have a haaard time swallowing it. Especially catholics, since a european jesus has 'appeared' to them and alot of their official rulez are based on those 'experiences'.

Since human life started in Africa why shouldn't Jesus has been black?
I'm not religious in particular, but either or it doesn't have any importance to me whether Jesus was white or black. As a matter of fact, I could easily believe he WAS black and not white.

YO ML, Jesus had dark skin and wooly hair! He had to be of African desent! Yo know the devil is a lie, and his objective is to trick and lie to us all, so it does not suprize me that he (Jesus) came to us (Black Folks) as a white man. But in the beginning was the word and the word was with GOD and the word was GOD! The truth comes out, that ole devil cant trick us forever. What we need to realize as a people is that his word is true and the Love he came to share with us is forever with NO COLOR!

I guess to paint any picture of Jesus is somewhat blasphemy. There is absolutely no reason why the colour of his skin should affect anyones belief, if it does then that person needs to have a serious think about what hate they have in their heart for different races.
Jesus came to break down all social walls, not to separate them.
Whether he was white, black, middle eastern or asian it does not matter. He lived a perfect life and died to redeem us and that's what we should focus on.

I am an agnostic atheist. I do not think the Bible is any sort of authority; it is basically useless in terms of empirical evidence. And having no other source for faith (lending no credence to emotional experiences, of which I have had none) I therefore doubt the existence of God.

I am white and I was raised a Catholic. To be honest, if Jesus was black, it would simply be another reason to not believe: Not because I am racist, but because it means that the writers of the Bible were racist; and this is all the more reason to discount the Bible.

And so, I have a question for you, answer if you dare: If it is proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that the writers of the Bible were racist, how would that change or affect your faith?
